The official trailer for Season 3 of Fox's frothy Doc casts Blair Underwood's Dr. Ben Grant in a rather suspicious light.

20 Years Ago, ’24′ Won the Emmy for Best Drama — No Network Show Has Done So Since
’24′ showrunner Howard Gordon revisits Season 5 and the night that Fox’s real-time thriller made a curious bit of history.

Underwood's Ben debuted at the end of Season 2 as part of the viral outbreak/quarantine storyline. Before the medical drama broke for the summer, viewers learned that Ben and the titular Dr. Amy Larson (producer Molly Parker) share not just a professional past, having met years ago a a medical conference, but a pretty shteamy romantic history, as well.

Amy, though, has yet to retrieve that memory. (You may not know this, but she was in a car accident a couple years ago, one that robbed her of eight years' worth of memories. True story!)

‘Sheriff Country’: Ben McKenzie to Guest Star Opposite Wife Morena Baccarin
McKenzie and Baccarin started dating while on Fox’s ‘Gotham,’ where he played police commish James Gordon.

In the Season 3 trailer below, we see Ben tell Amy they "barely know each other," which is in keeping with what he thus far has led her to believe. But why go in so hard on the lie? Is there something about their past hook-up, or maybe something about him as a person or doctor, he is very afraid of Amy remembering?
