It was 12 years years ago this fall that Jon Bokenkamp first unfurled The Blacklist, his NBC drama about a superspy (played by James Spader) who on a weekly basis vexed the very government that created him.
With Apple TV+'s The Last Frontier (premiering Friday, October 10 with the first two of 10 episodes), Bokenkamp treads similar territory while also evoking thrillers such as Con Air, The Fugitive and Rambo.
