Paramount+'s Criminal Minds: Evolution kicked off its latest season Thursday with a pair of Cases of the Week that were uniquely chilling — while once again carving out some space (though less space) for Elias Voit aka Sicarius.

Describing the storyline mix for Season 19, showrunner Erica Messer told me, "We're doing a bit more hybrid than we did in the seasons past," which were decidedly Voit-centric. "Looking for a bad guy that we can stop every week is high on our list — we have a lot of Cases of the Week coming up — and then there is the throughline with Voit (played by Zach Gilford)."
